| The
Cristobal High School Class of 1964 held our 40th class reunion in conjunction
with the Panama Canal Society Annual Reunion this summer. Not only
did a large group of our classmates attend, but we also had some join us
that would have graduated with us had their family not moved elsewhere
or that they graduated other years. Everyone agreed that it was great
to see old friends again and how fast those years since high school
went by. As for myself, I wondered why high school seemed to last
forever yet 40 years have flown by at the blink of an eye.
A tremendous amount of work for nearly a year went into making this reunion one to remember and the committee members - Barbara (O'Neal), Naomi (Kuntz), Ewald Wiberg, Bonnie (Ward) [me!], Nancy (Hopkins), Janet Hoverson, and Chris (Bath) - deserve a huge round of applause for pulling this off. A huge thanks goes to Chris because although she couldn't attend, she worked extremely hard to track down classmates that had been out of touch for years. She was quite the Sherlock Holmes, believe me!
